Virtual Event Guidelines

Virtual Participants will be able to submit their results to be included with the in person participants. To be eligible for prizes be sure to follow the guidelines listed here!

  • When
    • Complete your 5k or 1.5-mile course between August 7th and August 10th.
  • Where
    • Anywhere!* You can choose any location for your run. Your run can be completed on the roads, trails, or sidewalks.
      • *No Tracks or Treadmills!
  • Course Guidelines
    • The course can be a loop or point to point.
    • Course elevation – To make it a fair challenge, the courses virtual participants select should be as close to flat as possible. Please limit the decline of your course to no more than 1% (this is approximately 165′ of drop over the 3.1 mile course or 80′ over 1.5 miles)
  • Submitting Your Results
    • We will be using Strava for result submissions. If you do not have this app already, it is a great free app for tracking your runs. If you have a GPS watch, you can still use your watch and submit your run through Strava (your watch should sync with Strava). If you don’t have a GPS watch to track your run, you can track it with the Strava app! Be sure when submitting your results your privacy settings for activities are set to public or everyone. Otherwise we won’t be able to see your results!
    • To Submit Results:
      • Navigate to the results submission form on the website. You can find it Here.
      • Fill in the form with your name, your time, and the URL link to your run on strava (See instructions below).
      • The deadline for submission is 11:59 August 10th.
  • How to get the Strava URL for your run:
    • Mobile (iPhone.. sorry android users, I don’t own an android! It should be similar to this process though!)
    • Step 1: Navigate to your run. Tap on the run.
    • Step 2: Click the box with an up arrow in the top right corner of the screen.
    • Step 3: Select More.
    • Step 4: Select Copy. You can now paste the link into the submission form!
  • From the Web on your Computer
    • This one is a bit easier. Go to http://www.strava.com and log in. From your dashboard, click on your run. Copy the URL from the address bar and paste that into the submission form!
